Type: Abstract Art
Hiral Singhal's "Abstract Splotches" is a sizable masterpiece, measuring 20" x 26", and is presented on a pristine white canvas. Executed with acrylic oil (without water, as the inclusion of water leads to paint breaking), this abstract art piece is a fascinating exploration of texture and colour without the use of traditional brushes. The canvas is a vibrant interplay of colours, including white, brown, mustard, yellow, green, pink, maroon, purple, blue, and red. What sets this piece apart is the absence of defined shapes or regular sizes for the splotches of paint; instead, they are applied in a random order, creating an engaging composition
The sequence of application of splotches seems deliberately planned by the artist. The middle row of four splotches occupies the middle third of the canvas. The top of the row is maroon red merging with a bright red merging into pink which with a white splotch overling becomes pink in the lower splotch. In the same layer adjacent and a little to the left and above is a blue splotch, which with the white and overlap becomes purple to the right of the middle of the middle row. In the foreground of this row are four splotches of dense green colour. On the left vertical row are three white splotches of paint the borders of the splotches shaded a mustard-olive green colour applied in a seemingly careless manner. The right one-third row has again four blotches, the top one white mixing with green the second one kept mainly white with a hint of green the third splotch is again dense green with purple overlapping about a quarter of the splotch and the lowermost splotch is white having shades of the pale yellow-green and upper half of the splotch green. The middle row of splotches forms a lazy ‘s’ shape in the middle row. The amalgamation of colours and paints leads to the breaking of the paint, forming beautiful and intricate textures throughout the canvas. To add a finishing touch, a spray of red paint, applied with a brush, graces the bottom-left corner, contributing a dynamic element to the overall composition. Hiral Singhal's "Abstract Splotches" invites viewers to revel in the spontaneity of colour, texture, and the absence of traditional tools, creating a visually stimulating experience.
